The Woodstock Job Corps Center, located just west of Baltimore, Maryland, serves students primarily from the Baltimore and surrounding areas. Woodstock serves approximately 1,000 students annually. Life at the Woodstock Job Corps Center is interesting and dynamic for students. There are, of course, the regular activities of attending class and Career Technical trades. At the same time, students are actively involved in Center life, whether it’s service on the Student Government Association or participation in sporting events. Our students are also involved in numerous local community service projects, including activities on behalf of the Greater Patapsco Community Association and FirstBook Distribution Program, among others. Woodstock Job Corps Center was originally a Jesuit monastery, and today, retains much of its historic past. The cornerstones from some of the buildings retain the marks of the early to mid 1800s! In those days, the place we now know as the Job Corps Center was called Woodstock College. According to information provided by the Jesuits, the grounds and buildings of Woodstock College were sold to the State of Maryland on July 30, 1971. The State planned to use the “buildings as soon as they are rehabilitated for a Job Corps Program.” The Jesuits have since continued to retain ownership of the Cemetery and Mortuary Chapel, which greets visitors upon arrival onto the Woodstock Job Corps Center grounds. We continue our relationship with the Jesuits, collaborating to maintain the cemetery grounds with our Landscaping students. The Student Benefits Include: The Woodstock Job Corps Center offers the following Career Technical Training and Academic Programs:
