The New Hampshire Job Corps Center is located just outside of Manchester, NH. The New Hampshire Center houses 268 residential students and 32 non-residential students. It offers vocational training in 9 trades, a high school equivalency program, 2 online high school diploma programs, concurrent enrollment with local high schools and college certification/degree programs through Manchester Community College, Nashua Community College and the New Hampshire Technical Institute. Students are from New Hampshire and the New England area.
The Center sits on 28 acres and is the newest state-of-the-art addition to the Job Corps system. The New Hampshire Center opened in October 2015 and enjoys strong support from Federal and state elected officials and workforce development officials. It is located next to the bustling economic hub of Manchester, which provides a plethora of employment options for Center graduates.
Students can participate in the Student Government Association, peer leadership classes, seasonal sports teams and various student clubs. They also enjoy educational field trips, job site visits and offsite recreational activities such as trips to movies, rock-climbing, mixed martial arts classes, skating and the beach. Onsite recreational offerings include arts & crafts, talent shows, a media room, a workout room, a basketball court and a recreation room with pool and ping pong tables.
Students engage in community service activities such as partnering with organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, the New Hampshire Food Bank and several shelters and homeless support organizations in the Manchester area.
