SL_mlkday1The St. Louis Job Corps Center assisted Mayor Terry Epps of the City of Pinelawn to host a Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration event.

Forty-one students walked with local seniors, as they participated in the three-quarter mile Peace Walk parade, starting at the local Skate King and concluding at the New Life Empowerment Center.

Seventeen Culinary Arts students then helped prepare and serve food to the local seniors who were being honored as civil rights pioneers from the past at the event.

The final event of the day included a community roller skating party, where students had fun working with local youth out on the skate floor.
