KE_libraryofcongressAs part of the Keystone Job Corps Center’s Read Across America activities on March 2, students and staff made the trip to Washington, DC, to visit the Library of Congress.

Keystone is a registered participant in the Library of Congress Surplus Books Program, which provides eligible organizations books that are not needed for the Library’s own uses. Students obtained 10 boxes totaling 246 books (and two card games) during the trip, which will be used to replenish the Center’s library. The students choices of books will provide a wide variety of reading materials, including fiction, nonfiction, biographies, current events, politics, and sports.

The Library of Congress visit was coordinated by Academic Manager Steve Saive and Instructor Abigail Bachman, who made the trip along with students Habibah Abdur-Raheem, Queen Eure-Berthea, and Tyler Kremser.
