TI_sergiorosalesTreasure Island Job Corps Center Advanced Culinary graduate Sergio Rosales has been working in the kitchen at The Cheesecake Factory, making $17  per hour as a line cook.

Sergio said he’s been able to utilize the skills and training he received at Job Corps and has used this opportunity to hone his knife skills, time management, work pace and efficiency. He also stated that his time at Treasure Island improved his communication skills, which are essential to working in the kitchen.

Sergio said he is grateful for all the Bay Area culture he was able to experience while at Treasure Island, especially given his passion for Japanese food.

He encourages trainees to explore San Francisco and to take advantage of all of the opportunities to experience the many different cultural aspects that make Bay Area dining so special.
