Derrick enlisted in the Delayed Entry Program in a ceremony in Harrisburg, PA. He is the second Security student who enlisted, joining Fhakir Daughtry in service to his country. Both will be departing in mid-January to Fort Benning, GA, to complete basic training, and both will be assigned to Infantry with an option in Airborne.

Derrick is anticipating his military career with great enthusiasm. He has been working towards enlistment since he was in the 10th grade and now he is realizing the achievement of his goal.

“I am looking forward to this opportunity and being a part of an elite organization,” he said. “It will provide purpose and allow me to make an impact not only the on country but on the world.”

Keystone and the United States Army have a long standing partnership that benefits students, center, and country. Staff Sergeants work closely with Keystone students and staff to provide information about military opportunities and provide a seamless transition for students upon enlistment.
