GL_breastcancerGlenmont Job Corps Center students joined the walk “Strides Against Breast Cancer” at Washington Park in Albany, NY on Oct. 15.

Prior to the walk Medical Administrative Assistant students sold pink ribbons, bracelets and fried dough to raise money. They also created and sold pink tie die shirts to staff members. The students raised $1,003 through their combined efforts.

The Medical Administrative Assistant Instructor was proud to hand the check to the American Cancer Foundation. Students even wore pink shirts displaying “GJCC Making a Difference” at the event. A group of students helped hand out water to all walkers for this event.

Some students handed out pink ribbons to cancer survivors. The survivors commented that they were amazed how Glenmont students showed so much compassion and caring about their fight against breast cancer.

Glenmont was one of the largest group among many teams. The Center showed its commitment to the community and truly demonstrated Panther Pride!
