Grafton Job Corps Center student Matthew Utter, an Advanced Human Service Worker (HSW) student, has a long-term goal of becoming a Social Worker and helping youth relocate to better homes and survive in the “real world”.
“My experience in HSW at Grafton Job Corps has been a great opportunity to learn about how to help students through difficult challenges in their life. I enjoy being able to help youth with problems that they are facing and to develop as an adult,” stated Matthew.
He has completed an on-Center internship with the Career Preparation Planning program and an externship at the Worcester Court House. Matthew is currently completing another on-Center internship in Legacy Dormitory.
Matthew plans to attend AmeriCorps and save money to go to college to obtain his Social Work degree. He said he believes organizations like AmeriCoprs help make the world a better place.
