WL_mlkThe Woodland Job Corps Center turned the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service initiative into a whirlwind of Washington activity.

Students cleaned litter along the Anacostia River and Anacostia Riverwalk Trail while learning the how water from river and streams connects to our storm drains, homes and workplaces. Earlier, they made sandwiches and donated goods for the the Network and Serve DC’s MLK Day Blanket and Toileteries Drive, which supports homeless individuals in the District.

“This experience moved me because we all worked together for the greater good of what Dr. King wanted and his vision for a better America,” said Woodland Student Government Association President Keith Haywood.
