WL_usfsThe Philadelphia Region of Job Corps was all about the team event. Mirroring ice skating’s unification of 4 skating disciplines for its team competition, the 4 Job Corps Centers of the Maryland-D.C.-W.V. area (Woodland Job Corps Center, Woodstock Job Corps Center, Potomac Job Corps Center, Harper’s Ferry Conservation Center) came together to shadow U.S. Forest Service in Washington D.C. and learn about government jobs.

Fifteen “Stockland” students attended the event, which included presentations from Deputy Chief Lenise Lago on opportunities for Job Corps students and from U.S. Forestry staff on how to apply for government jobs using the USAJOBS website. Students received tips on how to write resumes that stand out to the federal government, with each student developing an individual plan with Forest Service staff.

Unlike the U.S. skaters, Stockland came away with a golden experience.
