GL_booktastingGlenmont Job Corps Center’s Reading I students “sampled” some wordy treats in the literal sense.

As part of Glenmont’s first Book-Tasting event, the Reading 1 class was set up to resemble a fancy cafe that included placements, doilies, plates, silverware and flower centerpieces. Four books were distributed and “served” among the four plates at each table so students could share the “main course” dishes. Reading I Instructor Jaime Stickler even dressed for the part, donning a full Culinary uniform so she could serve her students in style.

Academic Reading II students also got into the spirit, creating “menus” to describe their favorite books.
