WL_acostaWoodland Job Corps Center’s Advanced Culinary Arts team laid out their skills to a very special guest when they catered the reception for former President Ronald Reagan’s induction into the Great Hall at the U.S. Department of Labor.

Department of Labor Secretary Alexander Acosta was so impressed with the students’ efforts that he took time to take a picture with them and even commented, “Thank you for being here. This reception would not have been possible without you.” The students prepared a variety of beverages, fruit trays, pastries and desserts for the event.

Students also met with Lynn Brown, a former Woodland Culinary Arts graduate who has served 5 years as the personal chef to the Secretary’s office.
