KI_mlkKittrell Job Corps Center students joined civic groups, elected officials, community leaders, and residents to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr through service on Jan. 21.

They attended a Martin Luther King Jr. Breakfast at the Spring Street Baptist Church. After that, they joined the community to participate in Day of Services at ACTS Soup Kitchen with Vance County High School students. Together, the groups served meals to over 100 needy families and the homeless.

On Jan. 25, they visited Kerr-Lake Nursing Home, read Chicken Soup poems and assisted residents with games and other activities.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this holiday one that will be remembered by every life it touched.
