MI_mlkEight Miami Job Corps Center Painting students had some quick cameos on Channel 7 WSVN news during an extra special community service project in January.

The students participated with the City of Miami Gardens in a Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service project to refurbish senior citizens’ homes. The students involved were Stanford Daley, Jovannie Thomas, Raheem Sullivan, Peter Dominguez, Adrian Anderson, Lee Sanchez, Joshua Surgeon and Damian Lindsay.

Eric Howard, former Miami Painting Instructor and current Job Corps Field Coordinator for IUPAT was featured by Channel 7. “It was a great opportunity to work with our youth and showing them how important it is to give back to their communities,” he said.

The City of Miami Gardens was so thrilled to have the students’ support that they featured images of the students hard at work on their Twitter page. The Center and the City of Miami Gardens have a close relationship from the students’ frequent community service projects.
