GR_redwingTen Grafton Job Corps Center students met with Red Wing Boot Shop to be fitted for boots in preparation for their Construction Union Field Trips.

The students are participants in the Building Pathways Apprenticeship Training Program sponsored by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation and the City of Worcester Jobs Fund.  Students Kannard Addison, Danna Ayola Herron, Sebastian Ndayikeje and James Bazira were gearing up to meet the local Iron Workers. Danna hopes to become a pipefitter with Sprinkler Filters Local Union, while Kannard is excited to join United Brotherhood of Carpenters in Worcester.

Building Pathways places participants in prevailing wage union apprenticeship positions with starting wages between $17 to $22 an hour. This is the fourth year Grafton students have participated.
