AT_missyreeseAtterbury Job Corps Center brought a very special guest to celebrate Women’s History Month, retired Sgt. Shmiska “Missy” Reese.

Sgt. Reese served 22 years in the U.S. Army as a logistics specialist. She held a variety of leadership positions, including 1st Sgt., Platoon Sgt., instructor writer, Warrior Leaders Course instructor and squad leader. She is a decorated veteran and has been awarded high honors such as Bronze Star Medal, Joint Service Accommodation Medal, Global War on Terror Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal and NATO medal.

Sgt. Reese shared her story of strength, perseverance and how it has shaped her to be the woman she is today. The girls enjoyed having her at the Center and would like to have her come visit again in the near future.
