FG_chavez2Flint Genesee Job Corps Culinary students were asked to serve at the Flint Farmers Market for the Cesar Chavez Life and Legacy Celebration Luncheon.

The students use the event as an opportunity to learn more about other cultures and their views on America, as the practiced their Culinary skills. It was an excellent chance to put their ServSafe certification to work for food preparation. Culinary students involved in the event were Terryonna Suggs, Trinity Van Lue, Jasmine Franklin-Williams, Reanna Taylor, Ahmad Anderson, Ricardo Hopkins, Javan Davis and Atrell Lewis.

Other student volunteers were also at the event, helping to decorate and prepare for it. Flint Genesee’s Reading classes attended to learn more about Cesar Chavez and his work in civil rights.
