GA_libraryFor 20 years, Gary Job Corps Center has assisted with the biannual library book sale for San Marcos Public Library.

This event is sponsored by “Friends of the Library” to raise money for library needs. The students helped sell more than 4,000 used books and 3,000 DVDs for the fundraiser in hopes of reaching the library’s $1 million goal. All funds will go toward the library’s extension building project.

“We could not have been successful over the years without the help of the students and staff from the Gary Job Corps Center for the past 20 years,” said Library Director Diane Insley.

Student volunteers included Kenndrick Walker, Gavin Williams, Brandon Smith, Samuel Cain, Jame Howard, Kahnon Bennett, Brian Little Jr. and Kamuwela Carbonell-Dias.

Gary appreciates everyone who contributed to this positive event.
