TI_tieadragarciaTreasure Island Job Corps Center graduate Tieadra Garcia continues to advance in her employment with Bar 10 in Riverton, WY.

Tieadra came to Treasure Island’s Advanced Culinary trade after graduating from Colbran Job Corps Center. During her time on Center, Tieadra worked events through Global Catering Company such as a Christmas party at de Young Museum and another event for Salesforce. Her last two weeks gave her the privilege to assist Chef Felipe on Center and brush up on her baking skills.

“This was one of my favorite memories at Treasure Island, and Chef Felipe was one of my favorite Instructors,” she said.

When leaving the Center, she was offered a part-time positions at Bar 10, which has since become a full-time position earning $13.11 an hour.

“I am really grateful for the Job Corps, especially the Culinary staff who held me accountable and Chef Toy who allowed me the opportunity to work every station in the kitchen. That really helped me learn my way around a kitchen a kitchen,” Tieadra said. “Because I learned how to overcome obstacles at Treasure Island, it made it easier for me to overcome challenges in my life.”

Treasure Island wishes Tieadra continued success on her career path.
