TI_montemaurice3Treasure Island Job Corps Center Office Administration student Monte Brown is the new intern at Congresswoman Barbara Lee’s District office.

Through hard work and amazing interview skills, Monte impressed Rep. Lee’s staff. Monte will learn how to interact with constituents on a variety of issues from parking tickets to immigration. He shares similar views to the Congresswoman and is excited to make a difference at her political office.

Rep. Lee has been an avid proponent for Job Corps’ mission and loves having students work at her District office. During her early life she started out as a political intern herself and rose to become one of the most influential Congressional representative to date. She hopes to provide that same opportunity for students.

Monte will start during outgoing intern and Office Administration student Maurice Wilson’s final week at the internship. Rep. Lee’s staff said Maurice excelled during his time and will be missed by the entire staff. Maurice will show Monte his keys to success and give him a head start at the position.

Treasure Island is very proud of Monte and cannot wait to see what else he can achieve.
