SL_gottalent2St. Louis Job Corps Center student Isaiah Long proved that he’s definitely “got talent” when he nabbed the $500 cash prize for Beyond Housing’s 24:1’s Got Talent.

Isaiah bested 50 auditioning youth and 12 finalists to claim victory in the teen/college field. His winning tune was John Legend’s “All of Me.”

The event was a joint collaboration between Deputy Center Director Administrative Assistant Pecola Jefferson (pictured below with students) and Charlin Hughes, Community Relations & Events Coordinator of Beyond Housing. The two designed the competition among three categories: 15 and under (youth), 16-20 (teen/college) and 21 and older (adult). Aside from Isaiah, three other Center students made the final cut. These finalists included  Desate Stimage (poem-reading), Dalano Evans (rapping) and DeMarco Towns (dancing).

Isaiah’s next gig is the Pine Lawn Park ribbon cutting ceremony, where he will be joined by fellow Center finalists.
