GL_heritageday3The Glenmont Job Corps Center Academics Department was honored to host Glenmont Heritage Day this year!

Staff from all departments came together to celebrate. The HSD Instructor did an amazing job planning such a wonderful event, and the Academic Team was so appreciative of the large number of staff (30 tables) that participated. Each went above expectations with the food they prepared, costumes, music and informative posters!

It was truly a team effort! The students loved the flags, decorations and raved about the food. Events like this instill a sense of community and our students appreciate it immensely!

One of the staff even joined students on the bongos! It was great to see the students cook their traditional dishes to show their pride alongside with staff. There was lat-kes made to order and some of the staff looked stunning in their traditional saree! The students were just as excited to see the LGBTQ community represented at one of the tables.

Glenmont extends its appreciation to the Logistics Team for setting up the tables and chairs, the Kitchen Staff for supplying the water, paper products, utensils and delicious empanadas and the Culinary Students for preparing and serving up some great food. Of course, we cannot forget the staff who did an amazing job getting all of the decorations up in time!
