KS_id4Keystone Job Corps Center Facilities Maintenance students helped the City of Hazleton prepare for its Independence Day Celebration.

The climax of the City’s celebration is a gigantic fireworks display that can be seen for miles in all directions. The fireworks are part of a larger festival which takes place at City View Park located on the highest point in the area. Keystone is proud to be a partner of this event and assist the City in the preparation of the Park.

During the week prior to July 4th, the Facilities Maintenance students teamed up with the City’s Public Works Department to get the Park ready for the event, which attracts over a thousand visitors. Together they cut grass, trim shrubs and clean up the area to prepare it for the largest event held on the site during the year.

Facilities Maintenance student Khati Robinson said of his experience, “I really enjoy working on the Park and getting it ready for everyone. The facility is really nice and with a little help from us it looks great. It just feels good to help those who come to have a great experience.” He added, “It also provides us with the opportunity to use the skills we received during our training. I love landscaping and this just provides me with a chance to do it.”
