NH_pappas3When the call for “cookie back up” came in from the office of U.S. Representative Chris Pappas, the New Hampshire Job Corps Center Culinary crew immediately went to work.

Rep. Pappas was celebrating the grand opening of his new office on the well-traveled corner of Elm and Hanover Streets in downtown Manchester and was expecting quite a crowd. Knowing how well ‘schooled” Job Corps students are in cooking up a plan for an event, the Congressman’s staff reached out to the Center for assistance.

Chef Todd Zingales led the mission, with the students creating a buttery sugar cookie artistically drizzled with black and white frosting. The finishing touch was to bag sets of three in cellophane bags to be festively fastened with red, white and blue ribbon in early celebration of the 4th of July. Students Samantha Flanagan, Austin Glines and Naseebah Preston traveled to the well-attended function, with Samantha presenting a hand drawn congratulatory sign to Rep. Pappas, signed by a number of Center staff.
